Fragrances In Spray

Sprays

Perfume sprays are usually made with an alcohol base, which is incredibly drying to the skin & hair.   Whereas Oil based perfumes do not dry the skin & they tend to allow your skin to hold scent longer. This is important because  these  natural perfumes do not contain the synthetic chemical fixatives as used in most commercial perfumes.

The favourite way to wear the perfume oils is to apply a perfume oil spray after showering onto bare skin,  you can re-apply  when needed throughout the day.   You can also  keep a bottle of the spray on your desk at work so you  can spray some onto the wrist.

Fragrances In Rollon Bottles

Rollon Bottles

Roll on bottles are also know as roller bottles. The roll on bottles have a plastic roll on ball,  as the ball rolls it picks up the perfume or essential oil (ATTAR) and applies it to the surface.  The caps of roll on bottles have a special ring on  the inner side.  This ring presses on the ball when the cap is tightly shut.  The pressure on the ball prevents leakage of the product.

Roll-on bottle is  a special bottle that allows the Perfume / Attar to be applied by gently rolling the tip of the bottle over an area of the body. Generally, roll-on applicators are spheres set permanently into the opening of the bottle that roll as the bottle is swiped over the skin, depositing small amounts of perfume from the bottle onto the desired areas. This application system also provides a convenient way for some perfume brands to combine glitter, shimmering powder, or other decorations with the perfume for a visual effect.

Roll-on bottle is a good choice for users who will be traveling, as the Attar is less likely to escape and seep out onto other belongings in the suitcase or purse.  Men, Women who travel frequently may also prefer roll-on Attar over traditional spray-on cologne bottles for the same reason.

Typically, roll-on attar is applied to the same general areas of the body as perfume in regular bottles. These commonly perfumed areas include the throat, the wrists, just under the ears along the jawline, and the collarbone. Due to the fact that the roll-on bottle controls the amount of perfume dispensed, some users have a tendency to apply the perfume to more or larger areas than usual.

Classic Burning Oudh

Burning Oudh

Oudh is considered as a supreme fragrance in the  Gulf countries.    In  Bahrain,  Oudh  is burned as a mark of respect and hospitality and is a traditional gesture of welcoming and honouring guests.    In fact, Oudh  is  considered  an  important  feature  at  most  social occasions.

Oudh, which simply means wood in Arabic, has an extraordinary pedigree. Also known as aloes and agarwood, Oudh is found in the forests of South East Asia.

The best grade of Oudh is hard, nearly black and very heavy. In general, Oudh becomes inferior as it becomes lighter in tone, flecked with diminishing amounts of resin.  The only reliable way to test for quality is to burn a small bit and evaluate the complexity and richness of the smoldering wood.   Oudh is cut, sliced, polished and burned over coal in traditional incense burners called mabakhir. Chips of this fragrant wood are a prized, almost priceless commodity, and burning it is one of the region’s most distinctive traditions.

“It is part of our tradition that when you go to most social occasions and pray you must go clean and have a nice smell.  Oudh is very strong. It gives a powerful scent that lasts for more than 24 hours.  Even after you wash it stays on your skin and in your hair and clothes.

Oudh is burned over smoldering bits of coal in the cup that is normally lined with sheet metal. In some homes Oudh is burned in an electric mabkharah instead of over coal for convenience.

The tradition of burning Oudh has not waned even among young Bahrainis who understand and appreciate the cultural significance of this age-old custom. In various parts of the Arab world, Oudh is burned to celebrate important events of everyday life. Oudh is burnt ceremoniously at weddings although the variety and the quality varies on how much the host is willing to spend.
